Crossing Crossroads

So. Here I am again.

First year uni is both the best and the biggest challenge I've probably faced, for many reasons. But, it seems as my first year begins to slowly close it's curtain, I'm staring down two paths unsure what direction to step towards. School is an industrial line process of education; force-feeding you subjects they deem 'necessary', stressing you to an unhealthy level and compromising your mental state, before pushing you off the conveyor belt into the Next Stage. And the Next Stage, the big looming future you're totally not prepared for, apparently determines the rest of your life?

Well, I'm here to call bullsh*t.

If you're worried about your future, be in 13 or 18 or 24 or even 68, you have as many times to change your mind as you want. I want you to know that the end of school isn't the end of your life, it may feel like it at the time, and you can take as much time as you want to decide what to do with your life. You don't have to go to higher education if you don't want to, you can drop out and go travelling and you FOR SURE can do something if you have enough determination.

Like I've said, I'm currently staring down the mother end of the Big Next Life Choice's right now, but I know I'll figure it all out sooner or later. I'm not sticking a time limited on myself. Sometimes, we put unnecessary pressure on ourselves to make a choice, when really you cannot force yourself to decide on something if your heart is refusing to cooperate. The answer will come in time, when it's ready to show itself. Sometimes you have so many options and freedoms, you can't see exactly what it is you're wanting to do next.

Just know, school isn't everything. If you fail a test, it's just a test. Take care of yourself and understand how flawed the education system is. You are NOT stupid if you fail some exams, don't let a teacher make your cry and remember LIFE IS SO BIG! Whatever path your life takes, it'll be what you make it so understand you are the one who calls the shots.

Carrie arrived in New York unsure yet she made it, Britney survived her breakdown, Joey made it as Doctor Drake Ramoray, Miss Alexa Chung has constantly reinvented herself and tried (and PERFECTED) various opportunities as well as Cara Delevingne getting to star in movies she's spoken about doing for so long. So the Next Step might be scary, but it isn't the end. It's the step toward what might be the best thing that could happen to you.
