Do More

Do more. Everyday we are told do more things. More wilder things, more spontaneous things, pushing yourself to be bigger and better than ever.

This is usually coupled by advertisements for cars or clothing, making you unconsciously think that to do wilder things in your life, to do more, you've gotta have all this stuff. So this begs me to ask the question...

Why the fuck do you need more stuff to do more?

Seriously, think about it. You don't need to buy more stuff to do more or to be a part of something. It's not a quick fix to have some outlandish life you're desperate to have. Take off the VSCO tinted glasses and understand that at every and any moment, you can do more.

You can hop on a plane and go somewhere you've dreamed about, you can quit your office job and be done with the 9 to 5 days, you can stop hanging about with people you really don't actually like and you can start going out every morning and learn yoga.

The thing that stops you is the idea you need to do what you've been told. You need to do the 'normal' stages in life. You have to go on holiday only when it's the holidays. You have to wait for the moment to arrive. You aren't the person crazy stuff happens too, that's designated for other people you probably don't know.

Life is the series of choices you make. That's what I believe. Whatever you do, it's a choice.

If you want to do things but stop yourself, that is you choosing to stop. You're probably not conscious of it, but you're doing it. If you don't do things because of other people, you're choosing the other people over you. Who cares what someone else is doing or saying - what are YOU doing? Is it makes you as happy as you could possibly be? You'll know if it is.

Do more, because there will never be a time where you'll have done enough or know every possibly thing. I'll be damned if we're all meant to have office jobs.
